Peter Stephan – founder of COMSYS Plus

Peter Stephan has over 40 years of experience in intralogistics within the food and meat industry. As an engineer, software developer, and process leader, he combines technical expertise with practical implementation skills. He creates solutions that businesses can immediately trust—efficient, reliable, and practical.

History

1984 - 1989: DOS

Founding of the software company COMSYS in May 1984
First version of the industry package for meat processing companies as a DOS version for monochrome screens (1st generation)
Expansion to merchandise management
First wholesale merchandise connection
Empties management for purchasing and sales
First complete merchandise management system with calculation and word processing under DOS (2nd generation). Written with a relational database language for colour screens
Network version with unlimited number of users

1990 - 1995: Windows 3.1

Windows 3.1 Expansion of calculation to include cost centre factors
Industry packages implemented with the latest relational database language
Word processing and spreadsheet software for merchandise management Version 3.0 of industry packages released
First Windows version with 16-bit. Graphical interface resolution 640 x 480 pixels
Fully automatic scale driver for all industrial scale connections Network capability and device driver independence introduced
Sorting systems with scale and transport container control developed
Full 32-bit Windows version for Windows 95 (3rd generation)

Renaming of industry package to Plus Series Business Server
Expansion to include the COMSYS SCHLACHTplus+ and COMSYS VIEHplus+ business servers
First foreign logistics facility put into operation
For the first time, it is possible to process all operations in a business, from animal husbandry to the shop counter, with the business servers
Release of the Business Server for beef labelling COMSYS ETIKETTplus+
Version 4.0 (4th generation) of the Plus Series Business Server released
1st version of hardware launched on the market
SCHLACHTplus+ expanded to include fully integrated slaughtering and veterinary terminals

Complete production and administration management for companies presented
C:E:S introduced as a solution with hardware and software for labelling
C:E:S delivered with approval as price labelling for free labelling in accordance with the latest LMIV
CRMplus+ with active components for communication management in the company
Version 7.0 of all ‘Plus Series Business Servers’ released
All GoBD requirements integrated in WVBplus+
All Plus Series Business Servers converted to version 8.0 and released with a completely new interface structure
